The 842-PE by Newport is a Hand-Held Optical Power and Energy Meter that is optimized with a menu-driven Windows CE based interface and intuitive functionality that is user-friendly. This meter is perfect for field service because of the handheld style but it can also be networked with a USB or RS-232 interface cable. The built-in features of the meter include a complete statistics package that allows the user to choose between a histogram and a line plot. The 842-PE can recover data from measurement interfaces with ease. The last value or the last period in the statistics buffer can be canceled, allowing the user to continue without stopping progress. In addition, the user can zero their readings when measuring pulse energy. These are also multiple options for saving statistics, saving data, or both. The meter features a large backlit LCD display and has a DB15 input connector to connect with a variety of detectors. Additionally, a 841-DIN adapter can be utilized for interfacing the meter with a 818 Series Low Power Detectors.
