The 6295NS by Newport is an Hg (Xe) Arc Lamp that is ozone free, extends 1000 watt functionality, and has an effective arc size of 1.0 mm x 3.0 mm. This lamp boats strong mercury lines through the ultraviolet and visible spectrum that dominate the output of the lamp’s spectrum. The 6295NS has a continuum that persists to 2.5 μm and beyond in the infrared as well as compatibility with a 6162 socket adapter. It is recommended to wear safety equipment, like UV safety goggles or spectacles because of the lamp’s intense UV spectral output profile that is below 400 nm. This lamp is enclosed in an aluminum housing that also holds necessary equipment to operate the lamp including an ignitor, condensing optics, a rear reflector, and a lamp cooling fan.
