The 77800 by Newport is a Plano-Convex Focusing Assembly designed for the conversion of collimated light sources into fiber optic sources. This assembly is equipped with essential components, including a fiber bundle holder, a focusing lens, and a manual shutter, all neatly enclosed within a single housing. Its primary function is to precisely project an image onto the surface of a glass fiber bundle. At one end of the housing there is a male flange, which allows for seamless coupling with an Oriel light source condenser. On the opposite end, the assembly accommodates 11 mm ferrule fiber bundles or single fibers with a compatible connector. The 77800 assembly boasts a fused silica F/2 lens and well-suited for applications involving liquid light guides and fiber bundles.
