The iDRN-RTD/N by Newport is a RTD signal conditioner that provides isolated, stable, and highly accurate measurements of RTD temperature sensors. This conditioner provides a fully scalable analog output that is proportional to the input signal. The output of this conditioner can be user set while the input scaling and configuration of other operating parameters is achieved with a connected standard RS-232 port of a personal computer in conjunction with a Windows-based setup software. Once the iDRN-RTD/N is configured, the setting can be stored in non-volatile memory and the unit disconnected from the PC.
The iDRN-RTD/N is DIN rail-mountable for Thermocouple, Pulse/Totalizer, Strain, AC Current, Strain, AC Voltage, and Process input types. This conditioner is also ideal for power and process monitoring applications. It features 3-way isolation, high accuracy input, programmable outputs, and is excellent for front end interfaces for data acquisition systems or programmable logic controllers. Other key features of the iDRN-RTD/N include 3 wire RTD connections to minimize errors from lead resistance, a low 200 µA excitation current to prevent self heating, as well as a patented algorithm for linearization of RTD’s to confirm to NIST and DIN tables.
