The P6020A by Newport is a Programmable Counter Timer that can totalize input pulses or measure frequency ratio, time interval, period, and frequency with a six-digit resolution. This device has a meter that is menu-driven for simple programming with alphanumeric prompts on the display and front panel push button. Pushing the correct button scrolls through the functions and settings, repeating (for corrections) as often as desired. A personal computer can also be utilized to program the meter and monitor the display data with an RS-232 port. The program setup can be stored and recalled via the non-volatile memory if needed. The P6020A features two setpoints and corresponding alarm outputs that make it an ON-OFF controller for either computer-controlled or stand-alone applications. The crystal time base can be electronically calibrated with front panel manual functions or personal computer remote functions.
