The Newport ESP301-3N is a highly versatile 3-Axis Motion Controller and Driver featuring front panel functions that are extended and a standard USB interface. This motion controller offers an array of features to meet various motion control needs. It shares the same functionality as its predecessor, the ESP300, ensuring maximum backward compatibility. Designed to drive and control a maximum of three axes of motion, the ESP301-3N supports 2-phase or DC stepper motors with a capacity of 3A per axis maximum. This capability allows for seamless integration with a wide range of compatible stages and actuators. With its user-friendly interface, this motion controller offers ease of operation and exceptional functionality.
One of the standout features of the ESP301-3N is its Enhanced System Performance (ESP) architecture, which encompasses ESP-compatible controllers and stages. This plug-and-play concept enhances user friendliness and overall motion controller performance. This motion controller can function as a standalone controller to drive an ESP motion device. Its compact form factor, suitable for either rack mounting or bench-top placement, further adds to its versatility. Powered by architecture with 200MHz Digital Signal Processing, the ESP301-3N boasts real-time high-speed command processing, making it ideal for demanding applications.
The ESP301-3N provides powerful commands and advanced motion programming capabilities, enabling precise control over motion sequences. With motion program storage of up to 99 programs in its 64kB non-volatile memory, users can easily manage complex motion profiles. This motion controller features a full-featured front panel with dedicated position and status displays for each axis. Simple motion sequences can be executed using the push-buttons on the front panel, and an extensive menu provides access to system setup options without the need for a computer. The rear panel of the ESP301-3N offers a variety of connection options, including axis connectors, motor interlock connector, RS232-C connector, IEEE 488 24-pin connector, USB connector, and power entry module.
Operating in either LOCAL or REMOTE mode, the ESP301-3N provides flexibility in control options. In LOCAL mode, users can utilize a subset of commands accessible through the front panel. Motion parameters such as velocity and acceleration can be adjusted directly, eliminating the need for a computer or terminal. In REMOTE mode, this motion controller accepts motion commands through its interfaces, allowing seamless integration with a computer or terminal. With over 100 commands available in this mode, users can enjoy extensive control capabilities. Additionally, the ESP301-3N offers COMMAND mode, enabling the downloading of command sequences, as well as PROGRAM EXECUTION mode, which allows users to store up to 100 programs in the motion controller's 64kB nonvolatile memory.
