The F-1015 by Newport is a Precision Single-Mode Fiber Coupler designed to achieve exceptional precision and stability in laser light coupling into the core of a single-mode fiber. This coupler boasts a remarkable micron resolution of 0.1 and incorporates a steering lens for achieving sub-micron resolution. This coupler has a user-friendly design, which includes an input iris that greatly assists in the accurate centering of laser beams. The coupler is mounted within a precision XY translation assembly, featuring 100-pitch adjustment screws. Within this assembly, a steering lens is strategically positioned through which the laser beam passes. When the steering lens is translated, it facilitates a second-order translation of the focused beam across the end-face of the fiber. This mechanism provides exceptional beam positioning resolution while minimizing any changes in the incident angle on the fiber face. The steering lens of the F-1015 is further enhanced with a multi-layer dielectric AR (Anti-Reflective) coating and a M-20X Microscope Objective, specifically designed for use with free-space lasers operating in the visible wavelength range. This coupler offers a substantial 9 mm effective focal length and it is constructed from anodized aluminum.
