The LTA-HS by Newport is a High Speed Motorized Actuator, optimized to facilitate a maximum motorized travel of 50 mm, primarily designed to cater to high-speed application requirements. This actuator has been meticulously engineered to seamlessly integrate with compatible manual stages and opto-mechanical components, directly supplanting conventional manual micrometers. The LTA-HS has a space-efficient design, wherein the arrangement of the lead screw and motor in a side-by-side configuration effectively reduces the actuator's length. This design choice yields two-fold benefits: mitigating the detrimental impact of long cantilever loads on micro-positioning equipment, and curbing periodic motion inconsistencies resulting from variable contacts between a rotating tip and mating surface, along with the potential effects of wear. This is further reinforced by the inclusion of a non-rotating tip.

The LTA-HS is compatible with the CONEX controller, a compact pre-configured driver tailored for immediate and hassle-free out-of-the-box control. The actuator features an 8 mm diameter rod and an M12 x 0.5 mounting bezel, rendering it compatible with linear stages and optical mounts. This adaptability equips the actuator to effortlessly accommodate heavy-load applications. The underlying DC servo motor has been optimized to deliver superior output torque, thus endowing the LTA-HS with an extensive travel range. Safe operational limits are enforced through the integration of a movable limit switch, safeguarding equipment against over-travel. Moreover, swift adjustments to the actuator's position, thereby altering the maximum travel extent, can be executed with ease. Facilitating intuitive positioning while the motor is deactivated, the actuator incorporates a manual adjustment knob. To provide clear and precise insights into the coarse actuator position, the presence of conveniently labeled scales, presenting data in both inches and millimeters, simplifies the assessment process. For streamlined motion controller connectivity, the actuator is equipped with a SUB-D25 connector and accompanying cable.
