The M-426 by Newport is an Extended Platform Crossed-Roller Bearing Stage designed to offer exceptional performance and versatility. This precision stage boasts a number of key features that contribute to its superior functionality. At the core of the M-426 is its extra-large, solid, and apertured platforms, which provide a stable foundation for various applications. The smooth and precise motion of the stage is facilitated by the actuator system, featuring hardened carbide inserts that ensure smooth motion, repeatability, and stability.

To eliminate any potential backlash, springs are preloaded against the actuator tip of the M-426. Moreover, the stainless steel actuator mounting system enables flexible configuration options, allowing actuators to be attached either in a right-handed or left-handed orientation. The stage is also equipped with a non-influencing lock, ensuring stable positioning and safeguarding against inadvertent adjustments once mounted. The M-426 comes equipped with an array of metric M6 tapped holes, allowing for convenient stacking into XY applications. Furthermore, for more complex setups, the stage can be combined with a compatible angle bracket to achieve XYZ configurations.

The M-426’s crossed-roller bearings, preloaded for optimal performance, enable smooth and precise linear motion with negligible side play. The roller slips holding the cylindrical rollers are ingeniously angled at 90 degrees, ensuring constant linear contact with the ground and hardened ways. Thanks to its large mounting area, the M-426 offers an impressive center load capability while maintaining smooth travel over 1 or 2 inches of travel. Additionally, the bearings run on ground steel V-ways, providing low runout and high-resolution movement, thus enhancing overall precision.
