The M-460A-XYZ by Newport is a Three-Axis Quick-Mount Linear Stage designed with an integrated and modulated structure. This linear stage offers increased adaptability by allowing users to remove a Z-axis bracket/stage, facilitating its conversion into the XY model counterpart. The M-460A-XYZ’s motion is facilitated by hardened ball bearings that glide along opposing pairs of hardened and polished stainless steel rods. It also has a spring-loaded mechanism against a drive actuator to ensure backlash-free motion, while vertical-drive assemblies provide reliable load support by transmitting the load through the actuator spindle instead of relying solely on the springs.

To facilitate easy integration into optical systems, the M-460A-XYZ features external mounting tabs, enabling straightforward mounting and swift implementation of the linear stage. The stainless steel ball bearings on this stage move smoothly along polished stainless steel rods. Its travel range spans 0.5 inches (or 13 mm) with an exceptional straightness of travel and deviation of better than 150 µrad. The preloaded precision ball bearing movements minimize friction and allow for precise, controlled movements, even at a small scale. For added convenience, the M-460A-XYZ can be operated in a right-handed configuration, and it can be securely mounted using metric M6 tapped mounting holes.
