The M-460P-X by Newport is a Modular Ball Bearing X-Axis Linear Stage designed to meet the demands of precision applications. This meticulously crafted stage boasts outstanding straightness of travel and a low load capacity, making it an ideal choice for tasks requiring exceptional precision. The M-460P-X features an aluminum construction as well as high-quality hardened ball bearings that smoothly glide along opposing pairs of meticulously polished stainless steel rods. This design guarantees the utmost precision in motion control. This stage has actuators that engage with a hardened and polished carbide insert, enabling a seamless motion of 25.4 mm. To eliminate any unwanted backlash, preloaded springs are strategically placed against the actuator tip.
The M-460P-X's actuator mounts are designed to accommodate a wide range of compatible actuators and can be reversed to facilitate vertical mounting. This stage boasts a peg joining system that simplifies the connection of multiple stages. This process involves securing pegs into threaded holes, placing the stage atop the protruding pegs, and then tightening two set screws on the side of the stage to ensure a secure assembly. This design allows for easy disassembly and reassembly of stage stacks into various configurations. The pegs can be placed on the stage at different locations to create offset assemblies that are stable. The M-460P-X comes equipped with four counterbored through holes, four low-profile screws, and two peg screws. Furthermore, this stage is fully compatible with the 460PD Series Dovetail Stages, which share the same size and can be seamlessly joined together using the identical peg joining system.
