The M-VP-25XA by Newport is a Precision Compact Linear Stage with metric threaded holes and boasts an ultra-compact for factor that provides high-precision positioning performance. It features a ball screw drive with low friction that results in reliable and robust performance with minimal position drift induced by heat and excellent thrust. The M-VP-25XA is optimal for applications that require small part fine manipulation such as optical fiber alignment, as well as 25 mm travel and 0.1 μm minimum incremental motion. This stage is versatile to handle both non-automated and automated tasks with a manual adjustment knob. Other applications that this stage is optimized for include bio-medical, semiconductor, high precision test and measurement, micromachining, micro-assembly, and fiber alignment.
The M-VP-25XA features a backlash-free ball screw that is preloaded and provides bi-directional repeatability and smooth motion. This stage has a DC motor, which can be characterized by its high power/weight ratio, good efficiency, smooth motion, and high speeds. With a built-in linear encoder and tachometer, this stage can provide both speed control and closed-loop servo positioning that is precise. Utility is also expanded with a knob, that can be manually adjusted, available on the stage. The M-VP-25XA has end-of-run limit switches on either end of the stage to prevent over-travel damage. This stage can be stacked into XY or XYZ configurations with ease using a M-VP-BK bracket. Additionally, it is equipped with a cable of 1.5 m length and a SUB-D25 connector for connection to a motion controller.
