This motor offers an optimal torque ratio per inertia, resulting in high acceleration capabilities and minimal stage heating. Even when operating at maximum continuous torque, the motor's temperature increases by a mere 30°C, ensuring reliability and long-term stability. To ensure precision and accuracy during operation, the RGV160BL-S is equipped with a glass scale boasting high resolution and 28,800 line pairs per revolution. This scale directly measures the position of the rotating plate, minimizing potential position errors caused by axial runout, wobble, or eccentricity. The resulting encoder signals are then efficiently interpolated by a compatible XPS motion controller, providing outstanding stability and position accuracy with a resolution of less than 0.1 mdeg.
Designed with practicality in mind, the RGV160BL-S features a generous through hole with a diameter of 30 mm, allowing for easy routing of vacuum lines and cables through the stage. Additionally, this rotation stage incorporates a once-per-revolution index pulse, enabling precise homing to a unique home position. In terms of mechanical design, the RGV160BL-S employs a proprietary contact ball bearing that has 4 points. It is also designed with 2 pieces, which streamlines the manufacturing and assembly processes, integrating multiple functions, the bearing ways, and the direct drive motor into a minimum number of parts.
