The SR50PP by Newport is a Compact Motorized Rotation Stage, designed for precision rotation of optical components boasting a maximum diameter of 1 inch, such as wedges, wave plates, and polarizers. Engineered with utmost ingenuity, the stage's folded motor design ensures exceptional adaptability within confined spaces, including laser cavities, fiber optic component manufacturing zones, and disk texturing apparatus. Prominent among its features is the SR50PP's capability for ultra-fine incremental motion, setting a remarkable benchmark at 0.004°. This achievement can be seamlessly attained through either an open-loop configuration or a DC Servo stepper motor arrangement. The stage comes endowed with a hardware origin functionality, facilitating swift and accurate returns to a reference home position within a minimal deviation of 0.01°, in addition to its ability to function in a continuous rotation mode.

The SR50PP's structural foundation harmoniously combines an aluminum body with a lightweight and discreet profile, further fortified by preloaded ball bearings. This dynamic synergy results in impeccable rotation performance characterized by its smooth operation and negligible wobbling. Complementing this, the presence of a precision ground worm gear mechanism ensures consistent transmission of driving torque to the rotating carriage, effectively negating variations in motor current.
