The UTS100PP by Newport is a Motorized Linear Stage that is designed with a stepper motor to produce a mid travel range spanning from 50 to 150 mm. Crafted from stainless steel, the stage features preloaded linear ball bearing slides that ensure exceptional thermal stability and stiffness. This construction eliminates the potential for bi-metal bending effects, thereby ensuring consistent and reliable performance across various applications. The UTS100PP is ESP compatible, enabling seamless integration and rapid configuration when connected to a compatible controller. This convenient Plug and Play feature guarantees the safe and efficient operation of the stage. This stage serves a wide range of applications and can be employed in an XY configuration, facilitated by the utilization of M-CAP-M41 captive screws. These screws enable XY setups and facilitate direct bolting of the stages to customized mounting surfaces featuring thru-holes at the carriage.

The UTS100PP's stepper motor is directly attached to the lead screw through a proprietary bellow coupling, offering exceptional torsion stiffness. This setup eliminates the need for belt drives or gears, contributing to enhanced reliability. The stepper motor's high torque characteristics significantly reduce the risk of lost steps, thus maximizing motion precision. This design also promotes excellent linearity between the commanded micro-steps and the resulting motion of the stage. Should the need arise to mount the stage onto an optical table, the M-PBN12 base plate serves as a suitable solution. Precision and stability are paramount in the UTS100PP's design. The stage incorporates a matched, lapped nut combined with a diamond-corrected lead screw, ensuring accurate and stable motion. This design guarantees high position stability while accommodating substantial vertical load capacity. Additionally, the precision nut is equipped with a decoupling system and anti-backlash preloading mechanism, effectively mitigating stage movement resulting from lead screw eccentricity errors.
