The UZS80CC by Newport is a Motorized Precision Vertical Linear Stage designed with an all-steel construction and a compact size, catering to applications that demand thermal stability, high load capacity, and an exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio. With its ESP-compatibility and Plug and Play feature, the stage can be quickly recognized and easily configured without user input, enhancing convenience and efficiency. Standing at a height of less than 40 mm and occupying a footprint of approximately 261 x 81 mm, the UZS80CC boasts the smallest profile among all vertical stages. This unique attribute ensures unobstructed access to the load from any direction, making it particularly suitable for space-limited XYZ positioning applications.

The UZS80CC excels in providing high-precision vertical translation, catering to tasks that demand submicron resolution. It enables precise centering of the payload over the bearings and maintains short distances to other stages below, effectively preventing positioning errors caused by cantilever loads or long moment arms. The stage's innovative precision inclined-plane design consists of two opposing wedges moving past each other with inclined ball bearing races, enabling vertical motion with high resolution. Horizontal translation is achieved through a precision lead screw, converting the motion into vertical translation using the inclined ball races between the wedges. The upper wedge can be constrained using vertically mounted precision ball bearing slides, allowing users to avoid unwanted side motion. Another notable feature of the UZS80CC is its center home position, which enables a repeatable return to a predetermined level height. Additionally, the stage offers 4.5 mm vertical adjustment and can handle maximum loads of up to 30 N.
