The Newport 8806 is a Motorized Picomotor Piezo Platform Mount designed for the secure attachment of optics, featuring four M4 and five threaded 8-32 holes. This mount offers the flexibility to be configured both in a conventional vertical setup and as a horizontal tip-tilt arrangement. This mount seamlessly interfaces with the 8725 multi-axis adapter, enabling seamless integration with an Open-Loop Picomotor Controller/Driver. Notably, the device housing increases the mount's overall thickness by 0.75 inches, ensuring comprehensive protection. The 8806 excels in accommodating various optical components, including beamsplitter cubes, prisms, and custom optics, offering a square, flat, and adjustable surface.

The 8806 boasts precision Picomotor actuators, capable of achieving an exceptional angular resolution of 0.7 µrad. These actuators facilitate precise movements of compatible optics within a controlled environment, and their integrated knobs allow for swift manual adjustments. The actuator's movement, driven by applied piezo voltage, induces length changes that subsequently turn the screw, enabling meticulous positioning. Engineered with sapphire seats and optimized force distribution, the 8806 ensures consistent and smooth motorized adjustments, demonstrating both high mechanical and thermal stability. Notably, up to 31 drivers can be daisy-chained, accommodating four channels each, resulting in a network of up to 124 standard actuators when combined. Unlike its aperture mount counterparts, this mount can comfortably secure mirrors that are equal to or larger in size than the mount.
