The LP-1A-XYZ by Newport is a Precision Lens Positioner that is designed for manipulating 1-inch optical components with utmost accuracy. This positioner boasts a trio of precision degrees of freedom for positioning, ensuring the precise alignment of optical elements. It utilizes 100 TPI adjustment screws equipped with ergonomic knobs. These screws facilitate minute adjustments with unparalleled smoothness. This positioner incorporates an integral hex hole, enhancing sensitivity and enabling seamless adjustments. The XY mechanism incorporated in this positioner is engineered to eliminate play entirely, thus guaranteeing long-term stability. The LP-1A-XYZ operates without the need for grease between the sliding elements, reducing drift significantly across varying temperatures and extended usage periods.

The LP-1A-XYZ also offers orthogonal transverse adjustments and allows translation along the optical Z-axis. Z-axis movement is achieved without causing any rotation of the lens, thanks to a knurled ring featuring an 80 TPI thread designed for precision operation. This precision instrument features a centrally located aperture, meticulously threaded to accommodate optic retaining rings and various optics holders suitable for both objective and simple lenses. This positioner is equipped with two non-marring Delrin retaining rings, along with a dedicated optic holder.
