The SL8ABM by Newport is a highly functional Gimbal Optical Mount designed to precisely position large rectangular or circular optics with an 80 mm diameter. This mount offers exceptional flexibility as both the mount and optic can be freely oriented in any position, thanks to its unlimited rotation capability in azimuth and elevation. Circular optics smaller than the nominal diameter of the mount can be securely held inside the mount ring using extendible clamp arms. For optics larger than the nominal diameter, external clamps can be employed for reliable attachment. The base of the mount is equipped with a spacious aperture, ensuring unobstructed passage of light, thereby enhancing the mount's overall versatility. The SL8ABM boasts a user-friendly feature in the form of clutch nuts on each axis. These clutch nuts enable quick orientation of the mirror at coarse positions, while locking them in place allows for fine adjustments of up to ±2° using standard micrometers, ensuring precise alignment. Moreover, the mount offers added convenience by accommodating 3-inch diameter meters without the need for additional adapters. This further streamlines the setup process and enhances the overall user experience.
